Following a successful six-year karting career, Blake Angliss has made an exciting transition into car-racing and in 2021 will compete in the Ginetta GT4 SuperCup with multiple champions Century Motorsport.
His passion for motorsport all started on his 11th birthday where he was fortunate to have an indoor karting party at his local track. His excitement and enthusiasm was clear to see and within six months was encouraged to pursue the start of his intensive course of outdoor karting at top class level. Having a successful start in the Honda cadet category, Blake soon realised that he would need to move to the more competitive IAME category if he was going to progress through the ranks of karting.
As we all know, time stands still for no one and Blake’s intense training would see him progress from IAME Cadet to Mini X30 and Junior X30 culminating an amazing season with victory in the PFI Plate and Classic Cup. In 2020 Blake moved up to senior X30 and joined Mick Barrett Racing (MBR).
With their expertise, understanding and knowledge of how the motorsport industry works, we planned a route for Blake’s goal of being a racing driver. Due to COVID-19, our 2020 season was curtailed in karting but fortunately Blake was able to participate in the final three rounds of the Ginetta GT5 Challenge. This was the opportunity that Blake had been longing for, a chance to race at some of Britain’s world-famous racing circuits.
Blake rose to the challenge with a top ten finish at Donington, 6th place at Silverstone National and in the final round another 6th place finish at Silverstone GP. With the help of our team Century Motorsport and Sponsors, we look forward to what the new challenge of the Ginetta GT-Pro category the 2021 season has to offer....
