Blake Angliss Celebrates Perfect First Overall GT4 Victory

Motorsport rising star Blake Angliss produced the best performance of his British GT Championship career to date at Donington Park, with a wet-weather masterclass putting him on course for a first overall GT4 race win during the penultimate round of the 2026 season (05-06 September).
Angliss and team-mate Revie Lake charged to their first pole position of the campaign on Saturday, before producing a perfect performance in the two-hour race. Angliss stormed clear by over 30-seconds, before Lake brought home the victory for their long-awaited first trip to the podium together.
The talented team-mates were straight on the front-running pace in pre-event testing on Thursday, lapping fastest of the GT4 contenders in their Paddock Motorsport prepared McLaren Artura GT4. The positive pace continued in free practice on Saturday, setting them up well for qualifying.
Great laps from both drivers in their individual sessions combined to give them third on the grid initially. Post-session it was found that the two cars ahead achieved their times in breach of the technical regulations, with their disqualifications promoting the #84 McLaren to a rightful pole position.
A rain downpour shortly before the start of Sunday’s race meant a wet circuit greeted Angliss, though clearer skies overhead meant it was set to dry up as the race progressed. The Coventry-based racer made a perfect start to maintain his lead and immediately start building an advantage.

As the track started to turn and other teams pitted for slick tyres, Angliss impressively ramped up his pace to another level and rapidly grew the gap. Staying out longer than his rivals as he managed his wet tyres perfectly on the dry track, he took his lead to a remarkable 32 seconds.
The YorPower, Transend UK and TrigPoint Security backed driver handed over the car to Lake with just under an hour remaining with a healthy advantage. From there, Lake produced a faultless run to the chequered flag to secure the victory and with it Angliss’ second-ever overall British GT podium.
Blake Angliss: “What a weekend! We’ve had the pace and potential to do this all season but we’ve had some horrendous luck, so it’s fantastic to be able to put it all together and finally get the reward and recognition for what we are capable of achieving.
“Pole position and a lights to flag victory, we couldn’t ask for anything more. Paddock Motorsport gave us a quick car from the start of Thursday and we kept making steps forward with it, culminating in getting a deserved pole position as the fastest legal car in qualifying.
“The conditions were tricky in my stint, going from fully wet to almost dry, but I was able to look after the wet tyres and keep them going longer. That gave us the freedom to pick the right moment to do our pitstop. The pressure was on Revie as it was ours to lose, but he controlled the gap perfectly and brought home the victory.
“We drove a clean and sensible race, which is ultimately how you win in this championship, so credit to the team and Revie for that. It’s an amazing feeling to get our first win together and now we want to go to Brands Hatch and get the best result possible to end the season on a high.”
The final round of the 2026 British GT Championship takes place in three weeks’ time on the Brands Hatch Grand Prix circuit in Kent (26-27 September).
