Following his sensational return to racing at Silverstone earlier this month, Blake Angliss has pulled together a package to continue his comeback in the Ginetta GT Championship this weekend at Snetterton (17/18 June).
Angliss tackled his first race meeting in eight months during the G Fest event at Silverstone (02-04 June) and put in a simply sensational performance. He finished on the podium in all six races he contested, including scoring four race wins in a row, alongside four pole positions and three fastest laps.
After that tremendous dominance on his first outing in a Ginetta G56 GTP prepared by title-winning outfit Breakell Racing, the Coventry-based racer was determined to secure a deal to get on track again at Snetterton, having shown great pace there in his previous two visits.
Scoring the best finish of his debut GT4 SuperCup campaign at Snetterton in 2021, he returned the next year and starred in the G55 Pro class battle. Storming to two race victories on the road, he also produced a stunning charge from the back of the grid to second position.
Carrying momentum from the Silverstone victories and full of confidence in his ability on the long, technical Snetterton 300 circuit, Angliss makes the trip to Norfolk this weekend ready to challenge for more silverware with the support of Transend UK, Haigh Engineering and Concept Garage Equipment.
Blake Angliss: “After our incredible weekend at Silverstone, I knew it was important to try and carry on with that momentum behind us. It’s been a long ten days or so trying to put a deal together and I’m delighted to have been able to secure a position on the grid.
“Snetterton is without a doubt one of my favourite circuits on the calendar and having been quick there the last two years, I’m confident we can be right up there challenging at the sharp end of the grid again this weekend and hopefully collecting some more trophies.”
The Snetterton weekend will feature three races for the Ginetta GT Championship on the support package of the British GT Championship. The opener takes place at 14:25 on Saturday, before two races follow on Sunday at 09:00 and 15:35 – all three streamed live online for free at youtube.com/ginettatv.
Angliss is interested in talking with potential commercial partners who could support him in competing the 2023 Ginetta GT Championship season. Interested parties can get in touch with Blake via email, blake@anglissmotorsport.com.
